VA Beach Fashion Week

Halloween brings to mind ghosts and ghouls, blood, guts and gore, creatures of the night and of course Thriller, but this dramatic runway show was trans-formed into fashion flair of the hautest kind.

No goblins, witches or fairies appeared, instead there were wide-eyed models strutting down the runway adorned in the eclectic styles of local designers in the Virginia Beach area.

Matthew Cashe from Trinidad custom makes men and women's day and evening wear specifically designed to suit any style and fantasy. Now located in Jersey, this Cashe cow has made appearances all over the world.

Anzen Garcia, the designer for Maya Couture, showcased her beautiful pieces and promoted her new Anelia line. Anzen studied at Virginia Commonwealth University and relocated to New York finding her own niche and gaining invaluable experience as a designer. Maya Warburton, owner of Maya Couture, was also present, overseeing the show and mingling with photographers. Warburton started in Boston then also moved to New York and worked with Vera Wang at her bridal house. Bridal couture was her passion and she purchased Tiffany's Bridal, which was a local Hampton Roads boutique for many years. She turned this into Tiffany's by Maya and after fusing glamour and bridal couture became Maya Couture.

Michael Taylor's Couture boutique in Carytown, Richmond Virginia boasts slinky ball gowns, one-of-a-kind designs, chiffon puffs, silk organza evening dresses, lace embroidered bodices, black velvet shawls and taffeta everywhere. His most recent clients included attendees for the Inaugural Ball. His designs were no short of attention getting on the runway and popped with bold colors and layers of couture.
